A lot has changed in the past decade

I don't remember what magazine I saw this in. Probably Auto Week, or Road and Track

  1. And that's why the gas prices are so freakin, high! The damn Chinese are buying all the oil and gas for their market. This is why we need to rely on our own oil instead of outside vendors. But there's just too much politics to deal with, so we are all of us going to suffer! Okay, let's bring on the naysayers.

    1. and like I reported last fall, gasoline was getting loaded into tanker ships and being sent to China. It's a problem, but I can't figure any solution. Whoever will pay the most gets the gas. All we want is cheap gas, but some Chinese consortium buys up a significant amount and passes along the cost to its customers in China who won't have any option but to pay high prices... shorting the supply in California, and then we're paying higher prices too. It's a mess.

There is a solution, but none of us really want to go there. WAR. Pretty damn scary, but it's not the first time this has happened.
