when the planes are sliding, that's a bad sign

  1. I've been in planes landing on ice a few times. The 747 pilot in Oslo, Norway seemed to control the plane after it landed and until it turned off the runway, by working the engines only.

  2. Like the guy trying to keep the aircraft sliding away from the skyway. Had that happen a few times while in the Air Force, i.e., the plane is sitting on ice, and a gust of wind pushes it along. When it happens there's really not a whole lot you can do about it.
