Bill Thomas built 3 cars for Chevrolet to go road racing @ sebring. The even put 427 mystery motors in them.

 Then Chevy pulled the plug on him and he was supposed to destroy them.

Instead he sold them to drag racers.
 Dick Milner from Seattle, Washington’s Alan Green Chevrolet,
 and Atlanta, Georgia’s Houston Platt purchased and converted two fastbacks into match racer stockers
