Sturgis landmark Full Throttle Saloon, "worlds largest biker bar" burned down last night, there was no fire fighting water supply, and 500 gallons of grain alcohol inside fueling the blaze. Seems preventable. Haven't they heard of Halon fire suppressant systems?

a Meade County sheriff’s deputy said the distillery contained 500 gallons of grain alcohol. More than 40 firefighters fought the blaze, and their efforts were complicated by the lack of fire hydrants or a ready water supply at the site. Water had to be trucked in and held in holding tanks.

There are no hydrants or plumbed water supply on the grounds of the Full Throttle Saloon, which opens in June and closes just after the Sturgis Rally.

  1. Sad day for the biker community. Wonder if a new Full Throttle Saloon will rise from the ashes like a Phoenix.
